Everyday thoughts, but not every day

My secret missile's no secret anymore

BBC home page: US secretly gives Ukraine long-range missilesOkay, it was a secret when sanctioned, back in February, and when the weapons were delivered earlier this month. But now the US is openly admitting that it's supplying Ukraine with more powerful ballistic missiles.

The announcement of the secret on the home page of the BBC made me laugh though. It's not much of a secret if it's announced in the mainstream media.

The whole thing would probably have been less confusing and amusing to my befuddled mind if the BBC hadn't mixed tenses—the US secretly gave Ukraine long-range missiles. Past tense. But now the cat's out of the bag, it's no longer a secret. Present tense.

Other than that, it's early. Need coffee.
