This headline made me laugh: Alex Jones told to pay $965m to Sandy Hook families

A court in Waterbury, CT, has instructed right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to pay $965m to families of victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting. He had previously claimed that the 2012 atrocity was a hoax.
He was certainly a dumbarse for even suggesting it in the first place, although he's since recanted and apologised. Nevertheless, that wasn't enough. The families got lawyered up, and a thought-provoking
fine got handed down.
But how can anyone come up with such a number and keep a straight face?* It's meaningless. Where on earth do they think he's going to find the best part of a billion dollars? Down the back of the frikkin' sofa?

* I'm assuming they were straight-faced, and not wearing a red nose and propellor bow tie.
