The ramblings of a pseudointellectal…or a genuine idiot?

Easy, Tiger

According to Maggie Pound at SalesTiger:

Did you know? There are 2.7 Billion email users worldwide People spend 5.4 hours /day reading emails 212 billion business emails are exchanged daily. 66% customers make a purchase due to emails. Emails are an indispensable part of everyone’s routine. 50% people check emails while on vacation, 42% people check emails while using the bathroom, 46% people check emails while in bed, 91% check emails daily. The ROI on email marketing is $44.25 for every dollar spent NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE!

You might have guessed that I found this gem in my junk mail folder.

I don't know the source of Maggie's statistics, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if she hadn't just pulled them out of her arse. They sound like the sort of numbers that a pondlife direct marketer would use to round up the sheep for fleecing. If anyone genuinely spends 5.4 hours/day reading emails, it's probably because they read all of the shit they receive from scumbags like her, sent using the services of scumbags like Zoho Campaigns.

I really need to change my domain hosting service. My previous one used CPanel. It had a handy-dandy set of email filters that allowed me to set rules on the server, so that messages meeting my own defined criteria—for example, headers including zcsend.net—would be sent to :blackhole: rather than being delivered. It's really quite powerful because, instead of blocking email on a per sender basis, you can target the campaign server, which blocks email from all of their like-minded fellow shitstains too.
