It's getting quite bewildering, the webcomics that cater to the dental sciences. After Olivia Madison's Journal of Oral Health and Dental Science (Scholarena), and Charles Wilson's Journal of Dentistry and Oral Health (JScholar), comes Jennifer Brown with Journal of Dentistry and Oral Care Medicine (Annex Publishers).

There seems to be a fair overlap between JDOCM and JOHDS, at least according to Jen's message, below, and Liv's from 27.09.2022. Charlie was fairly circumspect as to the interests of JDOH; other than contributers' money, that is.

Mind you, I suppose there's only so much to discuss regarding mouths. With mouths, plenty; about them, not so much. Nevertheless, practitioners in the field of dental health must be churning out publications by the score. And it's all adding to the sum of human knowledge! (no)

International Journal on Toxicology and Novel Drug Delivery

Once again, Lisa Noel is impelled by a fervent scientific curiosity, and this time it's in the field of toxicology. Any more fields and this bitch will be a polymath. The strange thing is that the webcomic aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas in fields related to drug discovery and development, while toxicology is the flip side of the coin…what happens when drugs go wrong.

It's almost as if someone, somewhere in Hyderabad didn't know their pharmacology from their toxicology, or their arse from their elbow. Or just didn't care.

And now we can add Dental Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research, which doesn't make much sense as a title—a comma or two might've helped. This particular webcomic is apparently reputed, although as what I have no idea.

According to Karen Simm, publication charges will be waived if you submit your research on or before 5th November. According to the comic's website, however, the cut-off is one day earlier:

Offering me greets from Oral Health & Dental Science, Regina K heralds Scivision Journals' entry into the mouth health arena. I'm no expert, in either oral health or the English language, so I may be way off-base here, but while she refers to this field of Dental Health, I think it's only a subset of the wider field of oral health. I haven't the foggiest idea about dental science.

To that bewildering list of dental webcomics, we can add Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health. JDRO [sic] is shat out onto the interwebz by Scientific Eminence Group, which claims to be a global scientific, technical and medical platform based in NYC.

According to Robert Brown, his webcomic publishes all sorts of crap in the Dental Research research. I'm heartily relieved that I don't have to rely on research conducted in the dental research research, other than as a client of dental practitioners who, hopefully, have better sense than to rely solely on shit that's shat for the financial gain of JDRO.

Like so many others, Robert Brown has come to be impelled by a fervent scientific curiosity. Although in his case it's in the field of dental research, which I find a challenging subject to be impelled by, scientific curiosity or otherwise.

I guess some people are simply more driven by teeth than others. Is there a word for that?
