Bitches bitch'n'

The running woman

Not all Nazi war criminals give up easily. Instead of attending her trial for complicity in 11,000 murders, 96-year-old Irmgard Furchner did a runner from her nursing home.

But she couldn't outrun the filth, and was caught after a heated chase through the streets of Hamburg, possibly. She'll now stand trial at a juvenile court, due to her being under adult age at the time of the offences. Which must be why she still has a youthful spring in her step.

A group representing Nazi survivors and relatives of the dead expressed outrage that she had been able to escape. "It shows incredible contempt for the rule of law and survivors," said the International Auschwitz Committee.

I think it shows impressive spirit from a nonagenarian.

To put things into perspective, Furchner was a civilian worker, a typist in the Stutthof camp commandant's office. It's alleged that this gave her knowledge of key events in the camp's operations. So what?

The fight to bring Nazi perpetrators of the holocaust to justice has degraded into little more than a petty, vindictive witch-hunt. Except, all of the real witches are long gone.
