The world is small

A BBC report on new leadership of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters made me wonder how a US labour union can claim to be international. I'm not aware of any presence in Europe, for example. Ahhh, yes, Canada, silly me. (rolleyes)

Baseball's World Series is perhaps more contentious though. Again, it's limited to North America. But, while including their northern cousins could justify the Teamsters stretching to international, it falls far short of world. At least by any reasonable definition of the word.

A passport is required to cross the US/Canada border. Perhaps merkans consider anybody who has one to be a world traveller. (shrug)
