This is my truth

Bum vote

Kenya heads towards national elections next month, and the country's spiralling cost of living has been a prominent feature on the campaign trail.

Deputy President William Ruto is talking of a "bottoms-up" [sic] approach to improve the economy while long-time opposition leader Raila Odinga has promised cash transfers to poor households.

As opposed to a bottom-up approach. At first, I thought that this was either a toast, and he's trying to avert attention with a let the good times roll campaign strategy, or he's courting the LGBTQIABC+FLAPFLAPFLAP vote on the back of Pride month. But, then I realised that would be an up-bottoms approach.(prick)

So, it must be a toast after all. Bottoms-up, and let the least bad candidate win! [hic] (cocktail)

Ruto earlier referred to bottom-up economics. Either he's changed his tune, to capitalise on the Pride chic, or the droid misquoted him, despite using double quotes, which I—possibly mistakenly—take as representing a verbatim attribution.
