Everyday thoughts, but not every day

Journal of (any) research

Maha D, managing editor at esteemed garbage-level webcomic, Global Journal of Fertility and Research, invites me to Publish and expose your article. There are some places where exposing one's article can get you the unwanted attention of law enforcement. Or so I'm led to believe, I've never tried it myself. Honest, officer!

Anyhow, the journal's title says it all: Global Journal of Fertility and Research. Not Global Journal of Fertility Research, i.e. research about fertility, but fertility and research. I'm really not sure what that means. (confused)

Mind you, they have more than 100 journals with different disciplines, so they're obviously casting their net far and wide. Perhaps that's what they mean by and research? Research, any research will do.

Other than that, and the fact that Maha D, or their IT support, hasn't worked out mail merge, the message is only interesting for its terrible and unprofessional—for a purportedly scholarly journal—English. I just feel sorry for the poor saps who fall for this predatory shit, or feel that it's their only option.

As for my reply being highly solicited: yes, that's just a reflection of the number of emails that I receive, from pondlife like Maha D, soliciting a response. Innit? (rolleyes)

I was thrown by the postcode, 90024. It's so close, numerically, to my favourite bordello at 94002. How freaky is that?

Oral and Craniofacial Science Journal

Not long after I received that message, Maha D contacted me with exactly the same wording, this time on behalf of Oral and Craniofacial Science Journal, with the behest to Join us with rapid publishing serviceability. Clearly, the net is, indeed, flung far and wide! And fast and thin. (wink)

Open Journal of Trauma

Maha D is a busy little bee, now asking me to Collaborate with our team on Open Journal of Trauma. I'd like to turn Maha D into a trauma case myself. Does that count?
