All's not what it seems

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!!! (cancelled due to lack of interest)

Apple is proud of its App Store. They boast of over 50 billion downloads and almost 900,000 apps; although they're more circumspect about actual sales of individual apps.

But there appears to be a fair amount of chaff amongst the wheat, and not all apps are equally popular. In fact, zombie programmes receive next-to-no downloads, yet they're not a small minority of those on offer.

According to research by Adeven 579,001 apps out of a total of 888,856 apps in our database are zombies. That's 65.14002268084% to the rest of us. (rolleyes)

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, remains bullish, stating that the Apple App Store had fundamentally changed the world.

Now I'm willing to give Tim the benefit of the doubt, and assume that he isn't really a buffoon, and that his comments were taken out of context. But fundamentally changing the world? Really? Unless there's an app to end famine, and another to halt climate change, I think he might need to update his hyperbole app.
