A former senior Filipino police inspector, Rolando Mendoza, has allegedly taken a bus full of hostages in Manila, in an attempt to regain the job that he lost in 2008 following allegations of robbery, extortion, and drug-related crimes.
So to a list of alleged crimes, for which he lost his job, he's added an actual one that could send him to prison. As strategies for success go, it's not a very likely contender, is it?
In further news, the gunman is reported to be dead. His demand to be reinstated is now moot.
