Everyday thoughts, but not every day

The proof of the pudding...is in the reading
(JSciMed Central)

Just posting this for the shitz 'n' gigglz, really; no biggie. Yet another barely literate request from a JSciMed comic, although at least this time it doesn't concern my ground-breaking, liver-busting research on alcohol toxicity. I'm rather relieved that we're all moving on from that, I was beginning to get worried.

Angel Smith claims the enduring pursuit of excellence and exceptional quality publications. Clearly, this doesn't apply to their solicitation for such publications. So I guess that excellence and exceptional quality is the sole responsibility of the authors. JSciMed will cover the collecting-the-money and shitting-a-PDF-onto-the-interwebz side of things.

JSM Biology

I'm not going to pull apart Patrick Allison's description of JSM Biology (highlighted), because there'd be little left. Suffice to say, the major issue facing authors in the era of digital publishing, is sorting the wheat from the chaff. Chaff such as JSM Biology.

My curiosity was only piqued by the disclaimer; specifically, an otherwise unspecified delayed unsubscribe: Snooze Unsubscribe. If I thought I'd receive an intelligible answer, I'd ask.

Hello Allison P I was having a wonderful day, until you crapped into my inbox!! JSciMed Central is clearly a predatory publisher, and you are as likely to be based in the USA as I am to be leading the Ukrainian resistance against Russian invasion. So, let’s talk mano-a-mano: fuck off you skeevy cunt!

While wishing me a very happy 2024, Jennifer Wringets tells me my Christmas season should be filled with spending my non-existent publication budget on her APC fees. But my Christmas season's over.

And the world is still spheroidal. (pipe)

Annals of Food Processing and Preservation

What appears to be another JSciMed webcomic unworthy of its own entry in this pit of despair, so I'm just tacking it here simply to note its existence…and the fact that my jack-of-all-trades skill set seems to have extended to food processing and preservation. I think I prefer that to gynaecology TBH.

Unsurprisingly, despite the Content-Language header being set to en-us, the HTML code is littered with <span lang=EN-IN style='font-size:10.0pt'>.

At least she gives me an opt-out in the event that I do not intend to receive [my] emails. I'm sure she knows what she means.

Slightly different shtick from Claire this time. Because we have a new special issue: food homeostasis, whatever that means.

I'm mildly curious as to how a recent paper published four years ago, which is totally irrelevant to food processing and preservation, could have affected the local community. But I doubt that she could enlighten me, since she's clearly blowing it out her butt.

I'm flattered that she's honoured to consider me as a potential APC fee-payer though. No, really I am. (rolleyes)

Since she's looking forward to hearing from me soon, I shouldn't disappoint her. That would be rude.

Why would I submit my “improved research” to a garbage-level, money-grubbing Indian webcomic like yours? Yes, I know you pretend to be based in the USA, but I also know that JSciMed Central is a predatory publisher based in Hyderabad. Which is probably where you are bed-banging when not spamming.
