Keeping Members (of Parliament) warm

The animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex at London's Natural History museum is sporting a festive sweater, courtesy of a Leicester knitwear company.

British Christmas Jumpers has previously produced sweaters for Ed Sheeran and the Houses of Parliament. Director Snahal Patel said the latest design was the company's biggest job yet and took staff 100 hours to complete.

Far be it for me to question Mr Patel's sense of scale, but I simply cannot imagine that a sweater for a dinosaur, no matter how terrifying, could in any way be a match for one to cover the Houses of Parliament. Has he seen the size of that building? (shock)

As a rough estimate, I'd say that a mega-shit-ton of wool was required. For comparison: the height of the Elizabeth Tower (on the right) is 96m; a T. rex stands at little more than 6m.

The Elizabeth Tower is what tourists refer to as Big Ben. Big Ben is actually the tower's bell, which you can hear but not see.
