Dead men collect no pension

George Taylor, a retired NHS nurse received a letter from HMRC notifying him of his death and cancellation of his NHS and state pensions. This came as a shock to Mr Taylor, 65, who had been enjoying his retirement for less than a year.

After he contacted them to set the record straight, HMRC reinstituted his state pension within four days, but it took the NHS several weeks to start paying him his NHS pension.

The taxman may chase you to your grave, but at least they're more efficient than the NHS if they beat you to it.
