Is it legal for US airport officials to expect remuneration from third parties for essentially doing their job? Because that's what I think that's the situation with my correspondent, James Dee, here.
On the one hand, I should probably report him to his superiors at the United Nations Inspection Agency, for what is, in effect, solicitation for bribery. On the other, do I want to piss him off and lose that luvverly $8M or more?
I'm a stand-up, honest guy. Generally. But that's a whole bunch of drinking tokens, just for the taking.
I've no idea what a UK diplomat was doing with so much US currency though. They're a sneaky bunch, those damn Brits.

By my assessment, each of the boxes contains about $4M or more.They are still left in the airport storage facility till today. The Consignments like I said are two metal trunk boxes weighing about 110kg each (Internal dimension: W61 x H156 x D73 (cm) effective capacity: 680 L) Approximately. The details of the consignment including your name and email on the official document from United Nations' office in London where the shipment was tagged as personal effects/classified document is still available with us. As it stands now, you have to reconfirm your full name, Phone Number, full address so I can cross-check and see if it corresponds with the one on the official documents. It is now left to you to decide if you still need the consignment or allow us repatriate it back to UK (place of origin) as we were instructed. As I did say again, the shipper abandoned it and ran away most importantly because he gave a false declaration, he could not pay for the yellow tag, he could not secure a valid non inspection document(s), etc. I am ready to assist you in any way I can for you to get back this packages provided you will also give me something out of it (financial gratification). Dear Mr Dee, Thank you for the advisory. Honest folks, like us, don't expect diplomats to be so underhand, do we? Actually, the UK is closer to me anyway, so it's fine to let the shipment be repatriated. I can collect it when it arrives. Please could you advise on the likely date and place of arrival? And do I owe any monies? I can send money through PayPal or bitcoin. Sincerely
Actually, that last part of my reply is an out-and-out lie. I don't do bitcoin. But the skeevies seem to love it.
