You say billions, I say millions: The earlier disagreement between headline and lead (above) is corrected (right).

Breaking news often requires updating. That's a given. Broken news may also be updated; stealthily in the case of the world's most trusted international news broadcaster™. That's also a given.

But there must be times when an edit is prominent enough that it can't be swept under the carpet. Times, for example, when a headline disagrees with its own lead by billions instead of millions.

CORRECTION: The headline in the initial versions of this story misstated the value of Disney's investment in billions rather than millions.

Even revised, the headline is disingenuous and misleading though. It implies that Disney's action is a result of the feud, whereas in reality the two are coincidental, and this is more than likely a convenient smoke screen for the corporation.

Disney is currently not in the best financial health: job losses; financial losses, both at the box office and on streaming; a decline in Disney+ subscriber numbers; closure of the Galactic Starcruiser; falling share price; a looming forced buyout of Comcast at Hulu; and depleted cash reserves, or working capital. Overall, the company needs to achieve $5.5bn in savings, so it's likely they'd have had to cut back on investment in Florida anyway.
