And it's come to this

Trackers tracking

Dr Federica Gattuso invites me to publish my preprint manuscripts in HighTech and Innovation Journal. So, I think she's asking me to double dip, by submitting a manuscript that's already been accepted for publication elsewhere.* This is a questionable practice at best, if not flat-out unethical.

The only other thing of note, is that all four links in her message, including her email address, led to http://tracking.gilino.com/. Strange, for a supposedly scholastic organisation! (thinking)

And it's not uncommon for garbage solicitations like this to have a lot of whitespace before the unsubscribe blurb. Almost as if they're trying to hide it below the fold.

* A preprint is a version of a manuscript that has been accepted for publication, typeset by the publisher, and returned to the author for checking prior to finalisation. It's unethical to publish the same work in more than one journal; not that it doesn't happen. Some authors do it to pad their CV out.
