And it's come to this

Joker of the mountains

Back in 2014, when I bought my current road bike, Campagnolo group sets were limited to eleven cogs on the cassette, and a maximum of only 29 teeth at the high end. Mine has a measly range of 12–27T.

Things have improved since then. The new group sets now have cassettes with twelve cogs in a range up to 11–34T. So I've decided to upgrade B1.* Or, more realistically, I'll pay someone with the right skills, tools, and accreditation to upgrade it for me. Because, otherwise, it'll just end as a fukup-with-mondo-swearing.

That 34T will help get my lard-arse up a few hills better than my current 27T. But I'm not kidding myself that I'll be claiming any KOM titles though. Or even QOM, for that matter.

* My road and XC bikes, both Bianchi, are nicknamed B1 and B2, after the pyjama-clad bananas.

  • G'day, B1!
  • G'day, B2!
