All's not what it seems

It's not brayn surjury!

Mega, Megan: coincidence…or an email from The Twilight Zone? (spooky)

Immediately following a megajournal, I was greeted by this missive in my inbox from Megan Taylor, who, by earlier definition, must be an impressively large N Taylor. (LOL)

Megan works as an editorial assistant for Austin Publishing Group, a quality publishing powerhouse:

The company's care to detail isn't limited to its mission statement though. Many of the navigation links don't work, and the broken ones differ between pages, clearly signalling that this site was not designed and developed by competent professionals. From a brief review of the home page; about page; and contact page, you cannot access information on pricing; privacy; T&C; or FAQ, for example. All of which implies a remarkable insouciance.

Anyhow, Megan, bless her, is soliciting. For articles, that is. Articles for Austin Neurosurgery: Open Access. Or possibly for Austin Journal of Autism & Related Disabilities; she doesn't appear to know, or care, which. But, whateverz, it's all about braynz, so it's all the same, innit? (rolleyes)

Once again, I have been chosen to contribute my valuable and excellent work to a journal that's completely outside my sphere of vague competence. Okay, so I know that neurosurgery is a fancy-schmancy word for brain surgery, but that hardly qualifies me. As for the possibility that my research work will…also study material science, I can honestly say that I have absolutely no idea what that means. (confused)

All that aside, did you know that brain surgeons and rocket scientists aren't as clever as you might've thought? I wonder if Megan's hoping to someday become a brayn surjun, and a contributing author for her jurnal. They don't appear to be too fussy.

No, that's not a misspelling, austinjurnal.co appears to be APG's MailWizz tracking domain. For the love of Pete!
