This is my truth

Deluded?

still image from the film
One of our films is missing: a still image from The First Men in the Moon (1919). I think it's rather cute, in an am-dram way.

The First Men in the Moon (1919) is the first film to be based on H.G. Wells' 1901 novel of the same name. It is also, reputedly, the first full-length film to be based on a popular science fiction novel.

The British Film Institute considers it to be lost, and has included it on its 75 Most Wanted list. So it's safe to say that no one alive is likely to have seen it, or remember much of it if they had.

Nevertheless, 30 IMDb users have given the film an average rating of 6.8/10, although none have left a review. Perhaps one of them would be so kind as to point the BFI in the right direction?

Four IMDb users don't think it's worth the effort. None of these viewers are likely to have actually seen the film. Voters are predominantly men aged 45+, but this probably more reflects strength of imagination among the demographic.
