Slumming it
As its financial position worsens, Evergrande has had to give up the lease on its prestigious headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The company announced that it was remaining in the city, but moving to a building that it itself owns.
I'm quite sure that it was location, rather than confidence in its own building quality, that led the company to lease from another in the first place. Oh yes. (thinking)
Hong Kong Stock Exchange filings reveal Evergrande's losses to have been ¥476bn in 2021 and a further ¥106bn in 2022, for a total two-year loss of ¥582bn ($81.1bn). That's a very thought-provoking number. (LOL)
