And all of that leafy nonsense led me to this four-year-old story.
In 2006, Norfolk Police met with criticism from a crime victim after they released an e-fit of a thief looking something like Mr Potato Head, or a cabbage patch doll. Hmmmm…lettuce, cabbage, I think I'm beginning to see a pattern emerging here. (thinking)
According to Kim Rule, who runs The Grebe pub in Stalham, the suspect had an odd appearance. But not that odd.
"I don't think I've ever seen anyone who looks like that in Stalham or anywhere else in my life." She added: "Apparently the problem with the moustache was that the police only had long moustaches on their computer so they had to sort of chop it off at the ends."
It's just as well that the war's been over for over sixty years, then. Because they'd be screwed trying to create an e-fit of Adolf Hitler. (pipe)
A spokesman for Norfolk Police said: "We couldn't comment on current e-fits as that might jeopardise investigations."
Actually, I think that the e-fit was more likely to have jeopardised the investigation as it was!
