What's that smell?

Privates on parade

Yet another German terrorist plot. And, once again, under German privacy rules the suspect's surname cannot be revealed. In this case, the suspect is a military officer who's only named by the BBC as Lt Franco A.

Also, once again, the German privacy rules don't extend to not publishing a photograph of the suspect. (confused)

But, this time, there's something else. The filename of the image, even as downloaded from the BBC itself, is _118580897_albrecht.jpg.

Albrecht? (thinking)

Lt Franco A? (thinking)

Could they be related? Why, yes, they could!

Lt Franco Albrecht is accused of living a double life as part of a conspiracy to assassinate prominent politicians

Justin Huggler, The Telegraph

I assume that the German privacy rules only apply within Germany, and the BBC just plays along with it, or doesn't know better. Otherwise, The Telegraph could be in the do do for naming Lt Franco Albrecht.
