BBC News in editorial transparency shocker!

When going back to Rishi Sunak's one-sided leadership victory over Penny Mordaunt, I almost fell off my chair when I noticed this:

Conservative MPs declared who they were backing to become the UK's next prime minister in October 2022. This article shows the BBC's final tally, updated at 13:27 BST.

Bloody hell! That's not what we've come to expect from the world's most trusted international news broadcaster™! (shock)

A little reality check is in order

Our trusty friend and BBC News' accountability coach, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, crawled the page 28 times over a period of two days, from 11:19:04 on Friday 21st to 23:24:51 on Sunday 23rd. That advisory was absent in even the most recent capture.

It seems that only later did someone at MostTrustedInternationalNewsBroadcaster Towers have a last-minute pang of editorial conscience. Still, it's a start.
