Most of it's boring

BBC Travel: Where people drink beer for breakfastI've only visited Munich a couple of times, on business. So I haven't had the opportunity to experience Weißwurstfrühstück: white sausages, served with soft pretzels and sweet mustard, accompanied by wheat beer. For breakfast! But I have more chance of that than enjoying anything at Bacoa, so I'll take it.

I have tried Munich's white sausages before, poached in broth, and also presented with a side-order of beer. Although that was in the evening, not first thing. The sausages were excellent, all the same. Incidentally, I can also recommend the local Schweinhaxen, served with Bavarian potato salad at the Löwenbräukeller. Given that this is the Löwenbräu brewery, it should come as no surprise that beer is, once again, also an integral part of the meal. (beer)

Reading Kate Mann's essay really makes me want to revisit Munich. But not on business, as that would get in the way of breakfast at the Gaststätte Großmarkthalle!

Although why it comes filed under Travel and not World's Table is anyone's guess. (shrug)
