All's not what it seems

Orange is the new orange

As part of a plea deal, Lori Loughlin has received a two month jail term for her role in a US college admissions fraud.

"I made an awful decision," Loughlin said via video link. "I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process, and in doing so, I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass."

Her moral compass? Let's put this moral compass into perspective, shall we? Loughlin originally denied the charges against her, and only relented in May under legal persuasion.

Prosecutors in Massachusetts had publicly warned Loughlin that the longer her case dragged on, the longer her sentence would be if she was eventually convicted at trial rather than entering a guilty plea.

It seems that her morals are more directed by the degree of punishment for being caught. Still, at least her experience will stand her in good stead in casting for any future prison drama. It's just a pity for her that Orange Is The New Black was cancelled last year.
