When US sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson tested positive for cannabis, her qualifying result from the US Olympic trials was expunged, jeopardising her attendance at the Tokyo Olympics.
But I really don't understand why marijuana should be a banned substance in the first place. After all, it's hardly a performance stimulant. Can you imagine a sprinter coming out of the blocks after puffing weed? If they're smoking really good shit, they'll fall flat on their face.
A stoner Olympics sounds far more entertaining than the real event. Especially the pole vault and hurdles. (stoner) (LMAO)
In case you're wondering, cannabis is banned for two reasons. Firstly, it's an illicit drug in many countries. Secondly, it may mask pain, allowing athletes to recover more quickly from injury, or to continue training while still injured. Still, the idea of a Stoner Games amused me far more than the real deal.
