And it's come to this

What's your immediate thought? The journal title in the From header doesn't match that in the message body. The From address is editor@manuscriptsubmit.biz, yet the Reply-To address is jdoh@scimedresearchmail.biz.

Different addresses at different domains, plus biz domain names, can only mean it's totes legit, right? And Charlie's grip on the English language is a fine reflection on the journal's editorial standards, right? Well, that's okay then! (rolleyes)

It's just a pity that I have no valuable research to contribute.

It might surprise you to learn that the domain registrar for scimedresearchmail.biz is NameCheap, Inc., and the servers are based in India. The domain is linked to jscholaronline.org, which publishes Journal of Dentistry and Oral Health. Why on earth they don't just use the journal's own email address, which is even given on its home page, is anyone's guess.

It's been a little over two years since I last heard from Charles. By keeping my head down low, and with a bit of luck, I might not hear from him for another two. (crossedfingers)
