The ramblings of a pseudointellectal…or a genuine idiot?

Let's be different

Samsung introduces the Ativ Q, a tablet that can run Windows or Android operating systems:

It comes just over a fortnight after Asus unveiled its own laptop-tablet hybrid which also runs both Microsoft's and Google's systems. One analyst said he expected this to be a trend that other firms would follow. "It's a very cost-effective way for manufacturers to offer extra value to consumers at a time when it's very hard to differentiate benefits from one device to another," said Chris Green, principal technology analyst at Davies Murphy Group.

But if all manufacturers start differentiating themselves in the same way then they're not differentiated at all.

It kinda puts me in mind of Syndrome's comment in The Incredibles, when everyone's super…no one will be.

And, according to this same Chris Green, Samsung is really determined to be making a smartphone, tablet, camera and laptop for everybody, from those who want high-end devices to consumers on a budget.

Umm, no thanks. I'd rather buy products from a master than a jack of all trades. Besides, I equate Samsung with tat; big, cheap, and not good enough to really rival Apple, Canon, Nikon, or whoever else they're trying to cannibalise sales from.
