Bitches bitch'n'

Lil' ol' risk-taker me

Rebecca Martin is pretty sure that attendees of Biomaterials 2022 will gain much knowledge. There's a certain lack of commitment there which suggests she's not entirely convinced.

Given their motto, who can blame her? It's hardly an electrifying or memorable rallying cry: …give and gain inspiration about what our organization is hoping to achieve with our program. It sounds vague enough to mean anything, and at the same time nothing; as if they themselves don't really know what the aim is. Other than revenue, which sounds even worse as a rallying cry.

Now, just between you and I, I really don't recall receiving an earlier invitation. So, one reason that she hasn't received a reply may be that I didn't receive her original message. Another reason is that, even if I had received it, I have absolutely no interest in a garbage-tier webinar.

But, the real reason for this entry into the pit of despair is to recognise the nonsense of the disclaimer.

This message (including any attachments) may contain proprietary, confidential or privileged information and is intended only for the designated recipient named above.

Firstly, am I the intended recipient or not? The message was sent to me, as ostensibly the sole recipient; I was not on copy. But, the disclaimer states that the intended recipient is named above, although the message is impersonally addressed to Researcher.

If you are not an intended recipient of this message or authorized to receive this for an intended recipient, please note that any use, dissemination, or reproduction of this message is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful.

Secondly, it states that any use, dissemination, or reproduction by an unintended recipient is prohibited, and may be [cough] unlawful. By reason, therefore, it's clear that use, dissemination, or reproduction by the intended recipient is neither prohibited nor unlawful.

Consequently, am I breaking the law by posting her message to this blog? (thinking)

It's a risk that I'm willing to take.
