It's not racist to hate the rich
According to alleged actress Sophie Turner, It’s much better, much less racist
to make wealthy people the villains in film. But it's not simply less racist at all, is it? Wealth is not a race, ergo it's zero racist.
Personally, I think the choice of antagonist should fit the story. And for Turner's new straight-to-video thing, Amazon Prime's Steal, in the words of The Guardian's Zoe Williams: wealth is as much the enemy as any character, which is pretty zeitgeisty.
I'm not sure what that means, but okaaay.
Whatever, it may not be the most memorable viewing experience, zeitgeisty or otherwise, at least according to the star of the show:
I don’t even remember what happens in the script!
Sophie Turner, in interview with Zoe Williams, ‘It’s very embarrassing’: Sophie Turner on rage, romance and the horror of watching Game of Thrones, The Guardian
You're not really selling it there, Sophie. If you, as a paid pretender, can't even remember the plot, then why the hell should any of us great unwashed give it the time of day? Mind you, Amazon Prime.
Honestly, I'm sometimes of the impression that people who're paid to prance around uttering the words of others aren't too bright. They have some pretty clever management though.
