Not everyone is represented
Controversy rages over the Paris Olympics' opening ceremony, in which one tableau featuring queer dears has caused offence by mocking the last supper of Christ. Except it does nothing of the sort, it's a depiction of a pagan feast, albeit it one with bearded drag queens and featuring a landwhale as its centrepiece. Hey, it's the Olympics, let's celebrate athleticism.
The artistic director, Thomas Jolly, who is himself queer, says he wants
.everyone to feel represented
Jolly admits it may be “a little chaotic” but the measure of success, he insists, is “if everyone feels represented in it.”

Presumably, this doesn't apply to fatphobes and homophobes. Will no one spare a thought for the poor homophobes?
