For reasons too dull to relate, I've been thinking about 3D printing. Watching tutorials, reading reviews of printers, that sort of thing. Not actually doing anything practical though, or spending anything but my time. Baby steps.
So, it seems almost kismet that Albert Fred (really?) should invite me to attend 3D Printing 2023. Not only that, but I've been invited as a speaker! This honour comes with free accommodation, breakfast, and lunch. But not dinner. And I'm assuming that I have to stump up the air fare, the cost of which would probably be better spent on a 3D printer. At least then I could get some practical knowledge under my belt for 3D Printing 2024.
All the same, it's a pretty generous offer for someone whose sole knowledge of 3D printing comes from watching a few videos on YouTube. It just goes to show the value of social media. (no)

Bloody hell, that was quick. And her reply made me laugh. Whether she understood the piss-take—either of the quality of the event or her professional standing lying flat on her back—is another matter entirely. She does, however, provide further clarification that her original invitation was misleading: I was not invited as a speaker.

Almost half a year has passed, and clearly Nutrition 2024 is hardly the hot ticket. With less than four weeks until the conference opens, the deadline for abstract submission has been extended from last September to next week. No mention was made earlier of virtual attendance either.
