I think I've pissed myself

Mr Incredible intercepts Bomb Voyage
Monsieur Incroyable! In that silly French accent! (LMAO)

poster for The IncrediblesI assume that most of you who wanted to see The Incredibles saw it at the cinema, or picture playhouse, or whatever you hip dudes 'n' dudettes call the kinematograph parlour these days. Anyhow, I had the DVD on preorder and it arrived yesterday, so we watched it last night.

First thing that struck me was that, although this was a Disney release, it was fairly easy and quick to fastforward through the advertising crap. I feared that it might be more difficult to do this with them getting antsy about ad revenue.

You know the plot. It works well within the feel of the film's animation and style, so I won't waste our time.

The animation was the best of all the Pixar fillums to date, and in places it was difficult to believe that it wasn't live action. The film has a wonderful retro feel, working as a great pastiche of superhero movies and Connery Bonds of the '60s.*

I loved this film. It lived up to my expectations and then some! Which is more than can be said of Finding Nemo!

10/10.

According to IMDb, the Indian Hindi title for this film is Hum Hai Laajawab. Seems less catchy somehow.

* By which I mean Bond films starring Sean Connery, not films starring Connery Bonds, who probably doesn't exist anyway.
