I don't recall having heard of Deborah James before now. But I don't listen to podcasts, so there's that.
She's recently been elevated to the peerage for her work raising both cancer awareness and funding for cancer research. She's also in the end stages of bowel cancer, living in hospice-at-home and receiving end-of-life care. So, Prince William popped by to confer her damehood personally, staying for celebratory tea and champagne. It's a gesture that brought a tear or two to my old, cynical eyes this morning.
I'm not a monarchist, but you're alright, Bill. You're alright! (thumbup)
