Beware of geeks bearing gifts
The Geek Squad scam is a known phishing attack. I've received emails from Geek Squad
with variations on confirmed orders for a few weeks now. Last weekend, I received notice that I'd been added to the Client Support group
for 9403441nzbsd on Google Groups.
Since then, I've received at least twelve Geek Squad phishing attempts coming from clientsupport9403441nzbsd@googlegroups.com. I reported the originating email, below, to Google, but I doubt they'll do anything about it for they have no shits to give. I have to conclude that mail from @googlegroups.com is about as trustworthy as that from @gmail.com…i.e. not!
I need to change my hosting provider to one that allows this shit to be nixed at the server. I will then add googlegroups.com and gmail.com to the list of domains never to be heard from again, for they seem to be nothing but home to unprincipled spammers and scammers.

I remember when Google Mail was first rolled out. Creating an account was by invitation only, and these were highly-prized by a subset of 'net saddos; I wasn't one of them. Now it's just a cesspool of throwaway free mail accounts used by scumbags.
In the intervening period, I've received only three more Geek Squad emails from 9403441nzbsd, which is nice, I guess.
Less positively, I've now been added to the customer care
group for 4554519gbphn. Cocks.

It appears that customercareteam4453752yhswg does duty for Norton. Handy, but hardly relevant since I don't use Norton. Hey ho.
