It's all gone to shit

CANGARU kourt

G'day from down under…if down under refers to the 34th parallel north. For it's here that we find Dr Giovanni Cacciamani and his friends at the CANGARU. It's something to do with AI dontchaknow.

He doesn't explain what I've done wrong to be selected for his little project though. To the best of my recollection, I have shown no interest, let alone aptitude, in AI. And I certainly didn't subscribe to his shitlist, which shows my contact details were harvested.

All of which suggests an almost predatory behaviour. (grumpy)

Dear Colleague, We're reaching out to selected researchers and authors from top academic journals, like yourself, to invite you to join the CANGARU (ChatGPT, Generative Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Large Language Models for Accountable Reporting and Use) Guidelines project and participate in the Delphi Global Cross-discipline Consensus Survey. In collaboration with the Editors of the top-ranked academic journal, regulatory agencies (COPE, WAME, EASE, EQUATOR Network, etc.), and publisher representatives (Elsevier, Wiley, SpringerNature, etc.), artificial intelligence experts and academics we have established this initiative which aims to establish guidelines for the ethical use of Generative AI (GAI), GPTs, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in academia (Cacciamani et al. Nature. 2023;618(7964):238/ Conroy G. Nature. 2023 Oct;622(7982):234-236). To join us in this endeavor, please provide your contact details by clicking the link below: CANGARU - Delphi Global Cross-discipline Consensus Survey Your perspective will be instrumental in shaping best practices for GAI/GPTs/LLMs in the academic field. For a deeper dive into the project, please refer to paper protocol (University of Southern California IRB ApprovalIRB#: UP-23-00306) We eagerly anticipate the collaborative journey ahead in promoting responsible research and academic use of GAI/GPTs/LLMs. Warm regards, Dr. Giovanni Cacciamani University of Southern California, Los Angeles On behalf of the CANGARU Guidelines Project Core Team
