What's that smell?

What's the diehl, Pete?

Representative Anthony D'Esposito is a mighty neighbourly guy, or a geographical putz, if he considers he and I to be neighbours. And he's certainly a putz if he thinks I give a damn about whatever he's done for wherever the hell it is he's done it.

Anyhow, the purpose of this post is really to mark the broad influence of one Pete Diehl. I have no idea who he is, or even if he actually exists. But a hell of a lot of spam emanating from the fifty states if the Union comes addressed to, or addressing, him. Should I ever get that server-side spam solution that I dream of, it'll make dealing with this shit just that little easier.

Subject: CAPITOL HILL UPDATE: Rep. D'Esposito Secures Millions for Local Projects in NY-04

Dear Neighbor, I am pleased to report that the House of Representatives passed an important funding package yesterday that will ensure the federal government remains open and community projects across the country receive crucial funds, including many projects right here in Nassau County. I joined with members of Congress from both parties to pass this funding package in a bipartisan fashion. I am immensely proud to have secured critical federal funds to benefit my neighbors in New York’s 4th Congressional District as part of the bipartisan funding package, and I look forward to seeing this infusion of resources benefit our community for years to come. As a result of this funding package, we will be able to make enhancements at area libraries, provide local law enforcement professionals with added tools, and equip South Shore students with additional educational resources. I am pleased that these projects I have secured funding for will pay dividends long into the future. Sincerely, Rep. Anthony D'Esposito Member of Congress COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING GRANTS SECURED BY REP. ANTHONY D’ESPOSITO [snip]

It's not completely clear whether the Pete referred to here is the Pete Diehl, or just another common-or-garden Pete of Michelle's fancy. Whatever, what amused me was her instruction for an opt-out message: get away. It sounds like an invitation for a weekend trip, or a plan for a bank heist.

At least it's an alternative to the usual unsubscribe. Get awaygo awayget offbuzz off
