This is my truth

Never mind the quality, feel the cash

Lego increased its sales of its popular plastic bricks by 25% in 2015 and by 6% to record levels in 2016, but is still second to Mattel in terms of worldwide sales, despite the latter's 4% decline in sales last year.

According to Lego's CEO, its supernatural growth had now slowed, and would likely remain largely unchanged in the future.

I cannot help but think that Lego has shot itself in the foot though. Their problem is that their bricks are made to last.

Compare this with Barbie, or Mattel's other current hot products Monster High and Ever After High. They are made cheaply, but are expensively marketed. Skinny legs and arms, with fragile joints are all you need to guarantee repeat purchases.

Not for nothing is my youngest daughter's Frankie Stein now known as Frankie No Legs.
