Dam!

Thousands of residents of Midland, Michigan, have been evacuated in the anticipation of massive flooding following yesterday's collapse of the Edenville Dam, on the Tittabawassee River. The Sanford Dam remains intact, but floodwaters have been flowing over it.

Built in 1924, the Edenville Dam was rated in unsatisfactory condition by the state in 2018 while the Sanford Dam, which was built in 1925, was given a fair condition rating, the Associated Press news agency reports. It said both dams were in the process of being sold.

I can't imagine who'd buy a dam in situ, but I suspect that the number of bidders will have reduced substantially.

I have visited Midland, during my tenure at MegaCorpUSA. Nice, friendly people. But the town is a dump in the middle of a shithole of a state. Sorry.
