Unsolicited commercial email is annoying enough, but doubly so when they treat you like a moron.

Adding a disclaimer does not make spam not spam, it's just spam written by a liar. And likely only to confirm your email address as a recipient for more of the same.
Similarly, modify your subscription settings
, when I haven't actively subscribed in the first place. Or You are receiving this email because of your relationship with the sender
, when the only relationship that I have with the sender is that of spammed* and spammer.
