The ramblings of a pseudointellectal…or a genuine idiot?

Granite or Grey?

Aberdeen has been named as the most dismal town in Scotland by Urban Realm architecture magazine. According to the magazine's editor, John Glenday:

It has been left behind by the likes of Dundee, which has made huge strides to transform its waterfront. The time to turn things around is now. In a few years' time it may well be too late.

Which seems to be over-egging the pudding somewhat.

Not surprisingly, Aberdeen's worthies have leapt to its defence. Planning convener Councillor Ramsay Milne lauded some of the finest buildings in Scotland, and a magnificent seafront with superb maritime views. VisitAberdeen's chief executive, Steve Harris, pointed out the city's beautiful parks and gardens, a beach that runs for miles right into the city centre and some stunning architecture.
