Little Chef
Many years ago, there was a chain of roadside diners in the UK called Little Chef. I only ever ate there a couple of times. I don't recall the experience, which suggests it was neither climactic nor cataclysmic. And it's not as if I can go back to recalibrate my opinion. After a long and protracted decline, the chain finally went out of business in 2018.
Little Chef died the death for a number of reasons. Likely amounting to it not moving with the times of the clientele.
Around a year after the sale, Little Chef restaurants had all quietly disappeared from the UK's road network, replaced with more modern, on-the-go food outlets.

Travellers still want a break, and to sit down to enjoy their meal, just not so much at one eatery. As much as on-the-go food outlets, the likes of Little Chef gave way to food courts.
