All's not what it seems

Dame Olivia Newton-John, one of the mose beautiful women to have graced this planet in my lifetime, has died at the age of 73. She came to wide attention for her role in 1978's Grease, which propelled her career into the '80s and beyond. Later, over three decades, she battled, beat, and re-battled the cancer that finally took her life.

Being a cynical youth in the '80s, I thought that her music was a bit naff and uncool. It wasn't unspeakably offensive though. I can't say that I've taken any time to reevaluate my opinion in the intervening years. Nevertheless, out of respect, we'll draw a discreet veil over Xanadu; Take Me Home, Country Roads; and Physical, or at least that video anyway.

Her efforts in the field [cancer research] were recognised by Queen Elizabeth, who honoured her with a Dame [sic] in 2020 New Year's Honours list.

I believe, Auntie Beeb, that she was honoured with a damehood, or as a Dame. I could be wrong, but I think it's you who are.

ONJ was known as Olivia Neutron Bomb when I was at school. I have absolutely no idea why, other than the obvious, but completely irrelevant, rhyming pattern. Kids, eh? Tsk!

Just corrected, invisibly, along with many additions only seven minutes ago! (SMH)
