I think I've pissed myself

Camp Rwanda

BBC home page: Five countries that are safer for womenPerusing the BBC's home page from the sanctity of my bed this morning, I happened across this lead-line. And it got me thinking, which is always an uncomfortable experience early in the morning. Or at any time, really; but especially early in the morning.

Five countries that are safer for women.

What could it mean? Five countries that are safer for women, compared to what? Safer for women than for men? Or safer than wherever Lindsey Galloway, the author, is currently sitting? She's based in the USA, so I'm surprised she's managed to narrow it down to only five.

But it appears that she's pimping on behalf of the Slovenian; Rwandan; UAE; Japanese; and Norwegian tourist boards. The inclusion of Rwanda is encouraging, as it supports UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman's assurance, that the country poses no threat to asylum seekers who're shipped to the UK's offshore migrant camp. Splendid! (thumbup)

And, at last, Gary Lineker can return to mithering over the threat of hairspray restrictions at Premiere League matches. Or whateverthehell it is he does for the better part of £1½m.

The travel tag awarded to this post is for Galloway's work in broadening women's horizons, not Braverman's similar efforts on behalf of asylum seekers. Although it could do double-duty, I guess.
