This is my truth

Diarrhoea is hereditary...*

LIDSEN Publishing Inc.—AKA Open BioMedical Publishing Corporation it seems—is a scholarly Open Access publisher with headquarters in Ohio, USA. It's also a known predatory publisher, albeit one that's new to me. So, I've learnt something; not a particularly worthwhile something, admittedly, but something nonetheless.

Crystal Xu has reached out to me with a gentle reminder from one of LIDSEN's journals urinals, OBM Genetics; although, as I noted with Carlos L Bruckner, this reminder of a lost message is part of the predators' shtick. In light of [my] outstanding expertise, presumably in the field of genetics, she looks forward to receiving my excellent manuscripts. If I had any, she would not be on the receiving end. Besides, it will come as no surprise to anyone that, as a measure of my expertise in the field, my total number of publications can be derived from the following equation:

n = √BA

Where n is the number of publications, and BA is bugger all.

I imagine that Dr Kouvidi, this special issue's guest editor, is availing herself of the opportunity offered by many predatory publishers: edit a urinal and get publication costs waived for your own crap. It's only of value if you consider the urinals in question to be meritorious. Presumably she does; it takes all sorts. (shrug)

Curious, not curious: none of the timestamps in the headers are for the UTC-0500 time zone, which is what Ohio's currently enjoying.

Dear Ms Xu, Thank you for your kind reminder. It appears that your previous message was not delivered at all, smoothly or otherwise. But that’s just part of the lie, isn’t it? There was no previous message. I guess that this is intended to make the recipient feel that they need to make haste in order to meet your deadline…which you are graciously offering to extend for little old me, should it be necessary. Well it’s not. I would not publish anything in a predatory ‘journal’, run for nothing but profit, by no one but whores. As for allowing me to UNsubscribe, when did I ever subscribe to your shit in the first place? Sincerely,

*…it runs in your jeans.
