Amelia Snow seems to think that I genuinely give a shit about Remedy Publications' PO Box change. She didn't mention Hyderabad…or my alliterative allusions. And some fell on stony ground…

But at least we have confirmation of the Belmont bordello's closure, and their part in the exodus. I guess the some issues were Gavin Newsome's tax bill. Or complaints from the neighbours.

It's an interesting conundrum that an Emily S. Blunt—distinguishing herself from the Emily O.L. Blunt—presents: the webcomic's editorial board will ensure that my work is accepted, although I have absolutely no clue about surgery or surgical research, other than having been under the knife once. Presumably, if you pay them enough, they'll just roll over.

I wonder if I reply, she'll come back in another time zone. What I really want to know is what the hell she means by Guide us through the Special Issue, which makes no sense whatsoever; but I want to snare her, not antagonise her.

This is a turn up for the books: Emily S. Blunt has given way to a new doxy on the bordello's roster, Sophia Grace.

Sophia has invited me to Be a part of cutting-edge research in [Surgery]. I wonder if that's a deliberate attempt at humour: cutting-edge, surgery; geddit? [tumbleweed]

Anyhow, a couple of trivialities came to my attention. Firstly, the domain name of her email address; oapublications.net. This has been noted only twice before on this blog, once when used by Sophia's fellow bedbanger at Remedy Publications, Francesca Redesdale, and the other used by one of the Medtext molls, Celestia Grace.

The other thing that struck me, when I opened her message in view source mode, so as to avoid activating the tracking image, was that there was no tracking image! Nor any links to a campaign server. Not only that, but whereas the campaign messages tend to be a garble of encoded HTML soup, this one was relatively simple in comparison. The HTML is copied below, for reference.

I don't know if there's any significance to these observations. I'm just noting them here for possible future reference.

Journal of Research Notes

Research notes are notes made during the course of research, natch. They're a shorthand record of events that'll hopefully form the basis for something greater: a report; academic publication; or thesis etc. That they would themselves be published seems beyond belief; unless they're of historical importance, written by the hand of a illustrious scientist in the course of a monumental discovery, of course.

But, in an attempt to find another avenue through which to further pillage the academic record for profit, Remedy Publications have a webcomic entitled Journal of Research Notes. For the love of Pete! (SMH)

Where's the best place to publish your research work? Why, Clinics in Surgery™ of course! At least if your research is in surgery and all related fields. I'm not a surgeon, so I don't know, but what fields are related to surgery? Nursing? Medical devices? Funeral services? (thinking)

Anyhow, Clinics in Surgery™ has an impact factor of 1.995, dontchaknow? I know that, because Sara Williams told me so. And I'm sure we can trust her, and that she didn't pluck it from 'twixt her buttocks. Oh yes.

According to Amelie Bates, my past publications has [sic] brought them to me; them being Journal of Clinical Surgery and Case Reports. Many predatory webcomics will accept short reports for publication in exchange for money, but this is, I think, the first time that I've come across one actually dedicated to the practice. Things must be getting desperate.

Poor Alice Turner seems to be confused as to whether she's alice_tuners@pubremedy.us or aliceturners@remedyp.com. That may well be the least of her worries though.
