All's not what it seems

Idiot questions or idiot me?

“What song is sampled in Billie Eilish?” and “What song is the most ever?”More misheard lyrics that make no sense, largely because they're a figment of my imagination or aural acuity. This time, the Police's Message in a Bottle. I never really understood the line:

My loneliness, any man could bear

Which doesn't sound particularly vexing, or worthy of bemoaning in that Stingly wail. But that would be because it's actually:

More loneliness than any man could bear

Now, that makes a lot more sense! (nod)

Anyhow, after serving up the lyrics, Google helpfully offered similar questions that people have asked, including: What song is sampled in Billie Eilish?, and What song is the most ever? I have to admit, neither had occurred to me before. At least not in so many, or few, words.

I was tempted to use the feedback facility to inform Google that its users may be idiots. Then it occurred to me that either they may be onto something way beyond my pedestrian intellect, or they may actually be Google employees.

It's probably best just to let sleeping dogs lie.
