Will this madness never end?

INCOMING!!

One of the downsides to President Pooh's relaxation of his sewer's Covid restrictions is that its denizens will be free to travel abroad as of next month. Undoubtedly bringing their pestilence, the incidence of which is rising, with them.

Fortunately, the most popular destinations appear to be in the Far East. Japan and India have applied testing and quarantine restrictions on entry. Nevertheless, I wonder if Rishi Sunak has learnt from BoJo's misplaced optimism?

The US and Italy have added themselves to the list of once bitten twice shy. And, predictably, the shitheads on Weibo are outraged.

Some people reacted angrily on China's censored social media. "I thought all of the foreign countries had opened up. Isn't this racism?" read one comment that was liked 3,000 times on Weibo. The US has said testing is required of anyone coming from China, or via a third country, regardless of nationality.

Actually, no, this is not racism, for two reasons. Firstly, it applies to anyone trying to enter the US from China, not just the Chongs themselves. And, secondly, it's a perfectly reasonable response to people coming from a country with a known escalation in cases, but untrustworthy official statistics.

Unsurprisingly, for the UK it's business as usual. I'm just glad I don't live there. (phew)

Contrary to other countries, including Italy, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has declared screening of travellers from China to be unjustified.

This is the same EU—although not necessarily the same agency of grey men in grey suits—that proposed including China as a safe travel destination, as part of a reciprocal agreement, based on accepting China's statistics. Jus' sayin', is all.

Finally, the UK offers a suitable post-Brexit fuqueue to the EU's experts. So all's good. (thumbup)

Now even the EU's Integrated Political Crisis Response group is disregarding the advice given by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. I do love a good old-fashioned EU fuqueup. It fills my heart with joy!
