There are many characteristics that define predatory publishers, but Mercy Grace shows a tenaciousness that borders on delusion. Unfazed by me informing her my work's already been submitted elsewhere, she responds by reducing the charge from $299 to $199. This bitch is either desperate or dumb, or quite possibly both.
At least one of us has some degree of ethical compass, at least as it applies to publication.
