BBC headline: Will Jamaica now seek to 'move on' from royals as a republic?

On the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Jamaicans are considering a future as a republic. I can't say I blame them.

Personally, I've never been in favour of the modern British monarchy, and I've always considered Charles to be its nadir: a blithering, mithering idiot. A well-meaning idiot perhaps, but an idiot nonetheless. He's the perfect example of what happens when you can coast on familial coattails until you collect your unearned inheritance, rather than having to make an honest living.

Back in the day when kings led their armies into battle atop their trusty charger, Charles would've been handwringing back in his castle. His brother, Andrew, would've been at the front; if he wasn't giving some wench a damned good seeing to, that is.

But Charlie's too much of a bleeding-hearted mummy's boy. The queen is dead, who wants the king?
